Fabulous supporter of Special Pops Tennis. Features a round robin in the spring each year at the Country Club of the South with the Rotarians partnered with the Special Pops Tennis athletes in some spirited doubles tennis play. Thank you to Jack Hausmann and the other Rotarians for this dedication to enriching the lives of our athletes. Your hands-on involvement and funding truly makes a difference!!!

Thank you so much for all your support!!

Hope everyone is able to take the time this holiday to reflect on what is happening around and within themselves to seek guidance on being a transformer on those things we wish to change within ourselves; and being a transmitter on the things that we wish for others to see within ourselves!!! Happy 4th of July!!! Stay safe and find a reason to laugh and to share it with those around you!!!"IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME." -William H. Johnsen. Through the years this quote has been a guiding light in many of my personal decisions.

As we celebrate July 4th, our nation's 244th anniversary, we have a better appreciation of our freedoms because of our 2020 experience. Our daily lives have been temporarily rearranged in ways we would not have expected when we celebrated the arrival of the New Year on January 1st.

Now, I realize the quote "IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO ME." is ten words (and only two letters each), but it has power and positivity when the words are put together. Each word has a role, but it takes all ten words put in order to make it meaningful.

That is exactly how Special Pops Tennis has a successful track record. There have been many roles and each has been filled with a person who understands the total value is based on the team results. So on July 4th, in addition to my deep appreciation to the people who sacrificed for my personal freedom, I will also express my abiding gratitude to the many athletes, families, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters that continue to be there for Special Pops Tennis.

I am now convinced the greater strength and power happens when one word is changed from ME to WE! IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO WE!

This doesn’t change the game from an “individual sport” to a “team sport.” It subtly says in life’s journey we will find times when the impact of our decision is singular; however, at other times our decisions are about something bigger than just ourselves.

As you continue coping with the setbacks that have come from 2020, I want to encourage you to remember good times are going to be there for all of us in the days ahead! It may not be on the timetable we prefer —— but better days are coming!

Much of how we respond to the timetable is influenced by the power of WE. IF IT IS TO BE, IT IS UP TO WE!
